Sydney is incredible. Wow.

This town is everything I thought it would be. The air is fresh and crisp, the sun is shining, the water is blue as can be, and a ubiquitous breeze seems to come from the harbour. We must have heard several dozen languages being spoken by tourists -- World Youth Day just concluded, and many pilgrims still linger after the event.

After our 14-hour flight we landed at 7:30am Monday, then toured the city and managed to stay awake until 8pm. With some restful sleep, we began on Tuesday at 8am and had a splendid day. More about that on the next post!

This photo was taken on Monday, July 21 at about 4pm local time while on a ferry to Darling Harbour. The boats are not only a great way to get around Sydney, but they also double as sightseeing excursions!

Syndey truly is delightful. Heather and I would move there if we could! As much as you like Sydney, I'm certain you'll find Melbourne at least as splendid AND, of course, it's a sports town!

Take lots of pictures!

G'day, Mates!
I didn't even know you left, until Chris explained to me why all your furniture was out on the front lawn and the semi of water was filling the new indoor pool. Great idea about the poolside beer tap. Hope, Luke and Zack are getting really good at swimming, and the Sept. block party should be a lot more fun with a pool. Enjoy your vacay - the water will be the perfect temp by the time you get back. But hurry - The Cubs headline in the Sun-Times read, "Where in the World is Dan & Tracy - all games postponed until they are found!" Enjoy!
